Fun Blanket Times: Airborne Edition

Fun Blanket Times has recently progressed to all-new levels of fun and enjoyment. Leo now gets the post-feeding giggles when he's being held, can look around, etc. No blanket required.

The results of this much fun, I'm sad to report, are still the same.

Father-Son Nap Time - Captured on Film!

I thought it was a pretty clever solution.

And neither of us rolled off the couch.

Fun blanket times: with bib

We've recently learned something about "fun blanket times." Like some other things in life, it's so much fun it makes you puke. Leo excels at this in particular, so we've learned to accompany fun blanket times with a bib, just for laundry's sake.

Not to mention humor's sake, since the bib is hilarious.

Just plain old cute sleeping baby

Baths are still hard...but

We're still not on board with bath time. It pretty much leads to an instant melt down, followed by a bit of a recovery period. But the hair dryer seems to make it all better right quick. The combo of warm, moving air and snuggles in a big towel seem to make things a-OK.

Plus his hair looks cool too.

The Contortionist

For my next trick, I will touch the back of my head to my knee...while sleeping!

How does he do it?

Tummy times

Tummy times are also a new trick. We're not so sure about this one so far.

Scary....

Kinda fun...

Totally fun...

Scary again!

Fun blanket times

Wow. Major cuteness breakthrough recently. We've discovered that one of Leo's favorite things to do is, after a feeding, just hang out on his blanket on the floor of his room, wiggle his limbs and giggle. He usually barfs too, which isn't quite so cute, but it's all worth it when you get that giggle. He'll do this for about 20 minutes. Then, the giggles turn into fussing and it's all over. But fun blanket times are back once the next feeding ends. Fun!

Rob's first day back at work

After a month off, I had to go back to work. Tired, sad, and hairy. Not a good combo. Leo's bummed too.

Leo's first trip to Crissy Field

OK, I promise that this is the last "Leo's first" post. When you're 5 weeks old, there are lots of firsts, you know?

Leo's first bottle

Leo took his first bottle! Now Laura isn't the only one who will get up in the middle of the night to feed him. This is great news! Oh....wait...

Walks

Walks have been a huge part of our daily routine. They are among the fool-proof tricks to turn what you see on the left into what you see on the right. Plus they're a great excuse for us to get out of the house and check up on things around the neighborhood. We are not looking forward to the rains.

Leo's first Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was over at Auntie Em's this year. Leo was unimpressed.
But the rest of us had a pretty good time.

Maybe it's too soon to wear dad's clothes

But they look so comfy!

I wonder what happens if...

... I...keep...moving...my....finger...up...

Our son, the beet

Maybe this will be an incentive for him to not cry so hard

When I grow up, I want to be a...

Stuntman! Look how I can fall off a tall building and land directly in my car seat. Whew...
